And the Bride Wore..

Hello Folks!
Today I wanted to share with you one of my favorite new trends of 2013! I am spotting fashion-forward,  daring, and unique brides showing up flawless on their wedding day in a color other than white. Everything from a pastel pink gown to a silver sequins backless jaw dropper, the bride's personality shines through like never before. It's a trend loved by many and shunned by few, but I say if you have what it takes, flaunt it! Here are a few drop-dead beautiful brides in some seriously bold dresses. Enjoy!

Herbs and Spice and Everything Nice

A perfect theme for a Springtime afternoon tea party, wedding, or random soiree. Lots and lots of fresh greens, soft pastels, whites, and creams make for a sweet, lush, romantic celebration. I'm in love!

The Invites
I'm a sucker for pastels and greens because I love the natural fresh look they give.

The Florals
The "herbal" theme will mostly stand out by the greenery chosen for the florals. Rosemary, mint, and basil mixed with lavender, baby's breath, or any favorite flower keeps it natural and fresh with just the right amount of pop.

The Tablescape
Mostly white and creams with hints of natural greens and a single herb simply tied around the napkin with twine. Perfection.

The Escort Cards
Adorable herb inspired escort cards playfully let the guests know where to sit.

The Favors
My favorite detail about this adorable theme is the favors! Why? Because there are so many too-cute options to incorporate spices and herbs. Some of my favorites are: Loose tea packets, herb infused olive oil, herb infused salts, herb spices, and fresh herbs in a small pot. The one shown below absolutely kills me with it's darling messages that read, "It's about thyme!", "RoseMARRY", and " Mint to be!" How cute is that?

Berry Bliss

A berry inspired soiree filled with deep purples, maroons, and dark reds.

The Inspiration

I came across this gorgeous berry Michael Kors bag while pinteresting and my heart became attached. I adore maroons and burgundies and have seen it pop up everywhere this fall/winter! It's so warm and eye-catching and complements so well with other colors.

The Stationary

I love the use of the gold lettering on top of the deep purple cardstock. It's simple, romantic, and would be perfect for the invite, programs, or the menus!

The Florals

Soft green succulents, deep purple berries, and a mix of dark pink and maroon flowers. Absolutely perfect!

The Table

I love the simplicity of the centerpiece with the pop of purple on a navy and white table.

The Details

Infuse berries in the decor and in the food and drinks. Give away fresh berries for the favors and add them into the desserts!

Good as Gold

The Inspiration

I have always had a special place in my heart for metallic gold. That passion was set a blaze when I saw the new Essie polish "good as gold." I love weddings with a bit of an edge and I think adding bits of gold will do just that!

The Invite
The invite should capture the feel of the event. Glitter lets the guests know it is going to be a fun and lively party. Another gorg option for metallics is gold foil or silver lettering.

The Cake
A can't get enough of the metallic silver or gold cakes. Be bold with a gold fondant like the cake shown
or add it in with beading or ribbons.

The Tablescape
Pops of metallics add such an impact to the table design. I'm adoring the golden fruit and the candlesticks on the tablescape shown below! Brings in such a charm and elegance.

The Details
Wrap a strand of gold sequins to your bouquet to add just the right amount of glam to your wedding day!

Golden Flatware. My heart just melted a little bit!

A personal favorite of mine is mercury glass. It is so beautiful yet quite rustic. I love the idea of planting flowers into small mercury glass vases and giving them to your guests as favors.

Gold numbers on the edge of a table runner is such a simple and adorable idea!

Yours Truly

I wanted to start out by sharing a wedding that is very close to my own heart. On July 14th I got to marry my best friend under the California sun at the perfect location. We tied the knot at a small campsite right across the street from the house I grew up at and it was magical. I was honored to have been able to design the entire event from head to toe with the guidance and support of my family and friend's. Here are some photos captured by the amazing Custock's at Custock Photography. Enjoy!
